Report & Present

The Report answers “where does everything stand?” — a task-by-task status summary centered on today, grouped by person. Read it, expand it to full-page, or run it as a slide deck for a standup.

today− window+ windowDoneNEWOverdueEngagedNot started· due soon
A window centered on today; each task overlapping it reads Done, Overdue, Engaged, or Not started, with flags.

Opening a report

Click the Report icon in the chart's toolbar (or add ?view=report to the URL). It opens as a peek over the chart; the expand control turns it into a full page. Everything is read-only — a report never edits the plan, it reflects it.

A window around today

The report is centered on today, not backward-looking: pick ±1 week, ±2 weeks, ±1 month, or a custom range, and it shows every task that overlaps that window — recent, current, and near-future work in one frame. That's why a task with 0% progress but a live deadline still appears: it overlaps today. Group by assignee (the default) or by team.

Status and flags at a glance

Under each person, tasks are sorted into four states, and any that need a second look carry a small flag:

  • Done — 100% complete. Overdue — the deadline has passed, with how many days late. Engaged — under way, with its progress %. Not started — 0% but still ahead of its deadline, with the due date.
  • Flags: Due soon — due within a week. New — created inside the window. Rescheduled — moved during the window, showing the old → new dates.

Present it

The Present button turns the report into a full-screen slide deck: a title slide with the headline counts, one slide per person (their done / in-progress / not-started work, with progress notes and any images), and a closing summary. Step with the arrow keys or Page Up/Down, jump with Home/End, press f for real fullscreen, Esc to leave. Click any image to zoom it; Reload pulls in edits made mid-meeting without leaving the deck; the range arrows walk the window back a week at a time to review past standups.

“How is this different from Walkthrough?”

The Report is asynchronous — a generated summary you can read alone, share, or present from a deck, and regenerate tomorrow with the same shape. Walkthrough is live: you present on the actual, still-editable Gantt, spotlighting one person at a time in the room. Use the Report to send status; use Walkthrough to run the standup.

“It says some of the report couldn't load.”

On a very large project a report can come back partial rather than fail outright — you'll see an amber banner and a Reload. Reloading almost always lands the full report; the partial view is there so a big project still gets a usable summary instead of an error.

Recap

  • Today-centered — ±1wk / ±2wk / ±1mo / custom; every task overlapping the window.
  • Per task — Done / Overdue / Engaged / Not started, plus due-soon / new / rescheduled flags.
  • Present — a per-person slide deck; arrow-key nav, image zoom, mid-meeting reload.
  • vs Walkthrough — Report is an async summary; Walkthrough is live on the chart.
